Kealakekua Coastline Tour & Snorkel
Depart Honokohau Harbor and head south towards the biggest little town on the Big Island, Kailua-Kona. Stop in Kailua Bay and see Kona from a different point of view. Kamakahonu and Huli He'e Palace are just the start on our list of landmarks and historical places to visit on this tour.
Buzz the South Kona Coast in style on a high speed zodiac designed boat, to
one of the island's most popular snorkeling destinations!

We believe Hawaii's past is very important, and are delighted to share local history and
cultural information at all of our stops.
After stopping at Magic sands beach and Keauhou bay, the coast line begins to look very different. Raw and natural features formed from years of erosion make for incredible scenery. Land bridges, a few sea caves and a sacred offering place for Hawaiian Goddess Pele can be found on our journey down south.
Arrive at Kealakekua Bay, a serene and calm Marine Preserve that hosts a wide array of tropical reef fish and dive in and get lost in an underwater paradise. We snorkel for up to an hour and then welcome you back on the boat with a local and seasonal fruit tray.
Being a Marine Preserve, Kealakekua regularly hosts resident pods of Spinner Dolphins who choose to rest here until the late afternoon. Very entertaining to watch while you hear the history of Captain Cook and how his short stay on Hawai'i, impacted these islands forever.
On the way home we typically travel off shore a mile or two and look for more marine life. everyday is different and sometimes we are pleasantly surprised!

Whale Watching

Every year the Kona coast gets to host one of the oceans largest and most gentle inhabitants. Humpback whales!
Growing up to 50 feet and nearly 50 tons, these whales migrate from Alaska to the warm waters surrounding Hawaii to mate and to give birth. Despite their size these whales are incredibly graceful and seem to move through the waters effortlessly.
We usually head north for the shallow sand bars just off shore of Kawili Pt. The whales seem to like this area for its calm waters and protected bottom. It is not unusual to encounter several different pods of whales here.
Humpbacks are known for there aerial displays (breaching) and tail slaps (flukes) and make for very entertaining whale watches.

Enjoy refreshments and a local seasonal fruit tray while watching whales and hearing them talk to each other!
Throughout the trip we incorporate the use of a Hydrophone, a device used for listening to sounds underwater. Males humpbacks sing intricate and long songs and with the use of a hydrophone we can hear them too!

Get up close and personal with the Big Island's friendliest and biggest visitors!
Book now and meet the leviathans of the deep!
